In the summer of 2021 I undertook a five week work placement at Food and Travel magazine, working with their editorial and commercial team.
I worked on social media, sourcing images, and with a small office-based team including the publisher, while meeting and working with the rest of the team via Zoom. I also updated the website, went to press events in London and completed administration jobs, such as sorting and sending emails, answering the phones and filing images. Furthermore, I linked images on InDesign and sent them to the printers and pitched story ideas to the editor. I completed editorial tasks such as research for features, fact checking and compiling analytics of the social media accounts.
I was able to write the ‘Book & Cook’ section of the magazine, having my name published in print.
